VPS Farm has two types of operating system (OS) images: auto-install and manual-install. The auto-install images are preconfigured to use ssh public key authentication. If you plan on using an auto-install OS image, you will need to be sure you have your ssh public keys added from the SSH Key Management page.
4. Add FundsBefore you can create a virtual server, you will need to add funds to your VPS Farm account. VPS Farm accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. You can add funds to your account from the add funds page. VPS Farm will deduct funds from your credit balance on an hourly basis for virtual server and bandwidth usage. We do not store credit card numbers so you will need to ensure there is sufficient funds to keep any virtual servers you have added to your account. All payments are non-refundable.
To create a virtual server, you will need to use the VPS Farm Console. Follow the steps in the VPS Farm Console section to learn more about the Console.
The VPS Farm Console is a VNC console to a virtual server / cloud administration tool. The console allows customers to create / delete virtual servers, power cycle virtual servers, check credit balance, and open a console session to an already running virtual server.
Connecting to the ConsoleYou can connect to the console using the provided Java based VNC client by clicking on the 'console' link shown on the top of this page or by using any SSL enabled VNC client. To use the Java based client, you will need Java 6 (1.6.0) or newer with Java Web Start enabled.
| VNC Server Hostname | : console.vpsfarm.com |
| VNC Server Port | : 5901 |

Use your VPS Farm username and password to login to the console. If your account has been recently created or if you have changed your password, you will need to wait 15 minutes before you can login. If you are unable to login or need to reset your password, use the password reset form or contact us at support@vpsfarm.com.
When you first login to the console, you will be presented with a terminal window. The terminal window is running the VPS Farm Console shell. Type 'help' to see a list of available commands.
You'll need to choose a hosting plan and an image to use for the VPS. From the console:
